Position Overview:

The Deputy Country Director will play a pivotal role in the management and strategic development of Binaytara Foundation’s operations in Nepal. Reporting directly to the Country Director, this position requires a dynamic and compassionate leader capable of managing our current healthcare facilities and overseeing the construction and operationalization of a new 200-bed hospital. The Deputy Country Director will ensure that our projects are executed efficiently, sustainably, and in alignment with our mission to improve healthcare accessibility and quality.

This position is located in Janakpurdham, Nepal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Coordinate with the management team at the Binaytara Foundation Cancer Center to oversee the day-to-day operations of the foundation’s projects in Nepal, including the current 25-bed hospital, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Project Oversight:Lead the planning and construction of the upcoming 200-bed hospital, ensuring project milestones are met within budget and timelines.
  • Team Leadership:Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering an environment of collaboration, professional growth, and alignment with the foundation’s goals.
  • Strategic Planning:Assist the Country Director in developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance healthcare services, expand the foundation’s reach, and ensure sustainability.
  • Partnership Development:Cultivate strong relationships with government entities, local communities, donors, and international partners to support the foundation’s mission in Nepal.
  • Financial Oversight:Oversee budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation to ensure optimal use of funds for project success and organizational sustainability.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:Implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess project impact, operational efficiency, and quality of care.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting, with a strong preference for experience in hospital management and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale healthcare projects, including construction and operationalization of healthcare facilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English and Nepali.
  • Experience working in Nepal, with a deep understanding of the local healthcare system, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Proven track record of successful partnership development and stakeholder management.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to travel within Nepal as required.
  • Preference given to individuals with leadership experience in INGOs.
