Binaytara Foundation Cancer Center
BTF Cancer Hospital (2008-2021)
BTF Cancer Hospital (2021-Now)
Before the establishment of Binaytara Foundation Cancer Center in Janakpurdham, Nepal in December 2018, for cancer patients in Nepal’s Madhesh Province, fighting cancer meant traveling 8-hours by bus to the nearest cancer hospital where most providers do not speak your language.
For them, it meant leaving their loved ones behind to fight cancer alone, in a place where they might not speak the local language, might not understand the culture, and might not know what is going on with their health.
Dr. Binay Shah and Tara Shah founded the Binaytara Foundation to address healthcare inequities in Nepal and the United States. Inspired by their personal experiences and the suffering caused by lack of access to care, they established the organization to provide comprehensive cancer services. The foundation's work highlights the challenges faced by individuals in rural areas, where limited resources and infrastructure hinder timely diagnosis and treatment.
We are building a new, state-of-the-art hospital in Nepal to bring comprehensive cancer care to an underserved region, supporting patients who might not otherwise have access to affordable, high-quality care.
