Position Overview
The Binaytara Foundation is seeking a dynamic, inspirational, visionary, and experienced Oncology Nurse to join our team as the Nursing Education & Patient Advocacy (NEPA) Director. The NEPA director will oversee the strategic development, management, and administration of our continuing nursing education programs, the global oncology nursing workforce development program, and the oncology patient advocacy programs. This role is crucial in advancing the foundation’s mission to improve patient care and health outcomes through education, advocacy, and capacity-building in the field of oncology.
Salary: $115,000 to $125,000
Position Type: Full Time
Location: Bellevue, WA with some travel required.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of the nursing education and patient advocacy programs.
- Develop and implement innovative educational programs and resources to support the ongoing professional development of oncology nurses.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and professional bodies to enhance the reach and impact of our programs.
- Advocate for policies and practices that improve patient care and support the professional growth of oncology nurses.
Program Management
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify the learning needs and practice gaps of oncology nurses in the United States as well as at Binaytara Global Oncology sites.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of continuing nursing education programs that meet the needs of the Binaytara global oncology nursing workforce.
- Manage the global oncology nursing workforce development program, focusing on capacity building, skill enhancement, and leadership development.
- Develop and oversee oncology patient advocacy initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with the foundation’s mission and goals.
- Monitor program outcomes and utilize data-driven insights to continuously improve program effectiveness and impact.
- Provide leadership in the development of curricula and educational materials for oncology nurses.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create content that reflects the latest advancements in oncology nursing and patient care.
- Ensure all educational programs meet accreditation standards as well as legal and ethical practices.
Advocacy & Outreach
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, patients, families, and advocacy groups.
- Identify educational needs of cancer patients and develop programs to meet those needs.
- Advocate for the needs and concerns of oncology patients and their families at local, national, and international levels.
- Promote awareness of the foundation’s mission and programs through public speaking, media engagement, and community outreach.
Team Management
- Lead, inspire, and mentor the internal team, oncology nurses, and external collaborators.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) required; Doctor of Nursing (DNP) preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in oncology nursing, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or educational role.
- Proven experience in developing and managing nursing education and advocacy programs.
- Strong understanding of global health issues, particularly in oncology nursing and patient advocacy.
