Dr. Rajendra Prasad Baral awarded BTF Honorary membership
BTF awarded honorary membership to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Baral, Nepal’s renowned hematologist/oncologist and the organizing secretary of the International conference on updates in Hematologic Malignancies, for his exemplary contributions towards BTF’s mission to promote health and education in underprivileged communities.
Dana Sleeper awarded BTF extraordinary volunteer award
Dana joined BTF in August 2012, and has been actively working towards BTF’s mission of promoting health and education in underprivileged societies. She is a graduate of the George Washington University’s School of Business. In addition to working full-time as a Development Associate at Hanover Research in Washington, DC, and volunteering as an executive director of fund development for BTF, Dana writes material for Boundless Learning’s open-access e-text books, blogs volunteers for various human services organizations, and serves as a Nagoya, Japan Study Abroad Ambassador for IES.
BTF Research Grant 2013 Recipients Announced
BTF announced the recipients of BTF Medical Research Grants 2013 on September 14th, 2013 during the international conference on Hematologic Malignancies. The following 5 investigators from multiple Nepalese hospitals were selected from a competitive pool of applicants: Pratigya Gyawali, Sumesh Khanal, Santosh Kumar Deo, Kedar Gautam, and Roja Khanal.
The goal of the BTF research grant project is to promote evidence-based medicine in the developing world. A recipient noted, “Being associated with BTF has been a great learning experience for me. As a recent research grant recipient of the foundation, I have been provided the opportunity that very few get so early in their career. The whole process of initiating and conducting research has widened my knowledge regarding evidence based medicine.”
Mr. Arun Gupta given the Merit award
BTF presented Merit award to Mr. Arun Gupta for abstract “Tumor Burden Estimation by 18F-FDG PET/CT in pediatric Lymphoma Patients for Treatment Response Evaluation” during the International conference on Advances in Hematologic Malignancies, Kathmandu, Nepal.
