Position Overview
The Director of Medical Education at the Binaytara Foundation will lead the strategic development, management, and administration of Continuing Medical Education (CME) & Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) programs specifically designed for physicians, pharmacists, and advanced-practice professionals (APPs) in Hematology and Oncology. This role includes overseeing a variety of educational initiatives such as in-person conferences, webinars, game-based CME (OncoBlast), The Cancer News, and The International Journal of Cancer Care & Delivery. Additionally, the Director of Medical Education plays a critical role in the training and development of the oncology workforce as part of the Binaytara Foundation’s Global Oncology program.
Salary: $150,000 to $175,000
Position Type: Full Time
Location: Bellevue, WA with some travel required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the educational strategy for the foundation’s CME & CPE programs.
- Lead the design, planning, and evaluation of all educational content and activities.
- Identify emerging trends in oncology education and integrate them into program offerings.
- Program Development & Management:
- Oversee the creation and execution of CME & CPE programs, including conferences, webinars, and digital education tools.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that educational content meets the learning needs of physicians, pharmacists, and APPs in Hematology and Oncology.
- Manage and expand innovative educational offerings, including game-based CME/CPE (OncoBlast) and multimedia platforms such as The Cancer News.
- Journal & Publication Management:
- Supervise the editorial direction and operational management of The International Journal of Cancer Care & Delivery.
- Ensure the journal remains a leading resource for evidence-based oncology practice and research.
- Global Oncology Workforce Development:
- Support the foundation’s Global Oncology program by developing and overseeing educational initiatives aimed at strengthening the oncology workforce in resource-limited settings.
- Engage in collaborations with international partners to provide high-quality training for healthcare professionals.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure that all CME & CPE programs comply with relevant accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and monitor quality improvement processes to enhance the effectiveness of educational activities.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and industry partners.
- Represent the Binaytara Foundation at national and international forums to promote the foundation’s educational mission.
- Resource Management:
- Oversee the budget for the medical education department, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources.
- Lead a team of educators, program managers, and administrative staff to achieve program goals.
Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in medicine or pharmacy (MD/DO or PharmD/RPh) with specialized expertise in Hematology Oncology is essential.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse healthcare professionals, faculty, and partners.
- Exceptional leadership and organizational aptitude.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement CME programs across various formats (e.g., live events, digital media).
- Strong understanding of the accreditation and regulatory landscape for CME activities.
- Experience in academic publishing or journal management is highly desirable.
- Proven leadership skills, with a track record of managing teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
