Mount Vernon, WA, March 31st, 2017 – The Binaytara Foundation hosted the second Northwest Cancer Summit in Mount Vernon, WA on March 26th, 2017. Six experts in their respective fields shared their expertise and experiences about various cancer topics, including immunotherapy, radiation therapy, finding cancer information in the news, and nurse navigation. This interactive event was attended by over n participants; the audience frequently interacted with the experts by asking questions and sharing personal experiences.
These summits serve as an opportunity to educate the general population about various aspects of cancer. The main purpose of spreading this knowledge is to help empower people to make positive cancer care decisions which fit their needs. Experts are invited to give presentations about topics such as treatments, complementary therapies, and the non-medical burdens of having cancer (financial, emotional, familial, etc.). The summits also provide a platform to speak about health policy related to cancer, with policy makers welcome at every summit.Those affected by cancer are also invited to share their experiences with others.
