BTF’s Earthquake relief efforts in Nepal

On April 25, 2015, a 7.8 Magnitute earthquake hit Nepal killing more than 7500 people, injuring twice as many and making thousands of people homeless.

The Binaytara Foundation partnered with local non-profits in Nepal to provide immediate relief to the earthquake victims. Our partner organizations, Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha, and Rotary Club of Durbarmarg provided relief materials and medical treatments to earthquake victims in Gorkha, and Sindhupalchowk districts.

A team of volunteers led by BTF honorary member Dr. Rajendra Baral distributed rice, lentil, oil, sugar, parched rice, bhujia, soap, medicines, and tents to approximately 150 families affected by the earthquake in Bhotachaur village of Sindhupalchok district. The BTF partnered with the Rotary Club of Durbarmarg for this relief effort.

We would like to thank the University of Illinois Center for Global Health team, Global Medicine students, and other volunteers for helping us raise fund to help the earthquake victims. We are grateful to Dr. Amit Khanal for his efforts in raising funds for the earthquake relief project.

We are continuing our efforts to help the earthquake victims through collaboration with local volunteers and non-profit organizations. Please donate.
